APEX charts with HTTPS connections

February 11, 2008  |  apex, dba

At Neoface we secure our apps by using Apache as a reverse proxy server. Today I’ve configured Apache to handle APEX calls with secured https connections.

The problem that we figured out after doing it was that the flash charts from APEX 3.1 did not work. After some RTFM we discovered  that we need to configure the embedded gateway.

So, to set the charts request protocol to https and the port to the standard 443, you just need to run this:

DBMS_EPG.set_dad_attribute (‘APEX’,’cgi-environment-list’,’REQUEST_PROTOCOL=https’);
DBMS_EPG.set_dad_attribute (‘APEX’,’cgi-environment-list’,’HTTP_HOST=tasks.neoface.pt:443′);

  1. Hi

    very interesting.

    I have a problem with APEX and SSL, i need to configure APEX in order to access it via https, some articles say that i have to configure some files under $ORACLE_HOME/Apache but that path doesn’t exist, and opmn.xml neither.

    I don’t know if i have to install something else like OAS’ components.

    Please give me an idea.

    Best Regards
