Backup your database easily and online!

RMAN ships with the database server and doesn’t require a separate installation nor licensing. The RMAN is located in your ORACLE_HOME/bin directory and can do offline and online database backups.
If have previously enabled archivelog mode on your database you can quickly and easily backup your database.

Connect RMAN to a target database and a recovery catalog:
rman target sys/password@ database CATALOG catuser/password@catalog_database
Use the BACKUP command to back up files to the configured default device by using the configured channels. For example, at RMAN prompt, use this command to back up the database and all archived logs:
RMAN> backup database plus archivelog;
